Catherine Anne

  Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born on March 4 1954. O'Hara has won a number of awards which include a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. In the year 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada and in 2020, she was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara became famous as an actress when she was a part of 1974 of The Second City, an comedy troupe that was based in Toronto. Together with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd, she was part the main ensemble of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara was a part of Candy in the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984). She received critical acclaim both for her writing abilities and acting and was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. O'Hara was appointed to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
