Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the company. Corcoran was one of ABC's first Shark investors has been part of every episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals in February, 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence was her mother. She was an exemplary homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran’s childhood. The family relied sometimes on free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran recalls that her father was a drunkard who sometimes treated her mother with contempt and disrespect, especially after the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran was a troubled pupil throughout her schooling. Corcoran later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite failing several courses during her first year of high school.
